Our Wylde Cats

~W.C.~

His initials stand for Wyldewood Cat. He showed up one day while we were building the barn and asked if he could live there too. We said he could if he would catch some mice. He did. We started feeding him very well and now all he does is sleep all day in the highest place he can find. He follows me and Terry everywhere ( when he isn't sleeping) , including into the horse pastures , which scares me to death . He used to be afraid of the horses but now he thinks he is invincible. Unless a dog shows up.... :-) W.C. is neutered. *update* W.C is kinda angry about the new girls living here so he has decided not to follow us around anymore and has retired to sleeping most of the time.

~Lexi~

Lexi is our oldest cat. She was born in 1998. We brought her up here with us from the city. We rescued her from a horrible scary pet crate in a horrible scary pet shop where they were doing adoptions. A lady had left her there with them that day so that they could put her up for adoption with the ones they were offering. Apparently they did not do so as she stayed literally visibly shaking the whole day in horror in her pet crate. That is what caught our eye was this poor little girl shaking so hard it is a wonder she did not faint. Well , I had gone there to get a kitten playmate for our half Siamese male kitten , Taylor , who had wandered up and wound up adopting not only another kitten who was a tortie fem. named Sunni , but also an older orange tabby we named Mandy who had been there for a month or two because she was not friendly due to the commotion and boredom , so she slept and ignored everyone ( until we got her home , then she loved us to death ), AND of course Lexi. But we adopted Lexi outside the store through the lady who brought her up there after she retrieved her. She said she was a good girl who just napped in their driveway with their other cat but her husband said they had one cat already so she had to get rid of her . We borrowed her pet carrier and took it back across town to them the following week and she has been with us since. We gave her the new name of Lexi and she is a love sponge. Lexi is spayed.*update* W.C. got mad and attacked Lexi ( he never bothers the others cuz they stand up to him...she is passive ) and took a half dollar size chunk of skin out of her. She went to the vet and got it all cleaned up and is now an inside cat. She has always been nervous of other cats, so she is much happier living away from the others.

~Sushi~

Sushi got her name because she is the only cat we have who likes raw fish. When we go fishing and Terry cleans the fish, she has to have a few bite cut just for her off the good part of the filet. Is she spoiled?? Not sushi!

She was adopted by us along with 3 other cats from a shelter in Tyler. She is a real doll but would rather not have to live with any of the other cats but Trinket. She adores me and jumped into my arms from standing at my feet the other day. She is a loner mostly and picks her friends very cautiously. Sushi is spayed.

~Trinket~

Trinket is our tomboy of a girl kitty. She is built very solid like a male cat. She has a beautiful snakeskin kind of pattern. She is about 6 months old and was recently "fixed". She told me she really does not think she was broken. She removed most of her stitches but one ,and "mom" got that one for her. She has to be petted every morning and then likes to do her own thing. She likes Sushi a lot and the kittens and Guinevere is ok too.

~Guinevere~

We Hope to get a better picture of Guinevere soon. She is our most loving cat. Terry calls her Lovey. She jumped into his arms from a standing position at his feet at the shelter to convince him to take her home. She had been on my shoulder since we got there and got back on it from the window sill every time I put her down. She would like to be surgically attached to us. She mothered our two kittens, Aspen and Cashmere, when she came to be with us. And they all still love each other and love to play together. Guinevere and Sushi are not very fond of each other but are learning to cope. Guinevere is spayed.

~Aspen~

Aspen also came from the Tyler shelter. She had lots of brothers and sisters there. But she will be spayed soon so that she does not add to the cat population and wind up like her mom with tons of kittens in the shelter. She had two white sisters but she was the only one with one blue eye and one green. The others had both blue. Isn't she pretty? She has come a long way. She was once very shy and kind of scared of people. But now she loves us a lot and enjoys playing with her adopted sister Cashmere and likes to play with iron ore rocks and bugs in the front of the barn. The two dog feet pictured with her belong to my dog G.G.

~Cashmere~

This is an old picture of Cashmere. She is the same age as Aspen and is half grown now. She is shown here about 6 weeks old. She didn't come from the shelter. We purchased her. She is half Siamese and half Manx. The other little feet you see belonged to her brother. He had some birth defects inside and walked very poorly. Too much Manx got mixed up and it just didn't work out and he passed away within a week of coming to live with us. But Cashmere is going strong and has no Manx characteristics. She has beautiful blue eyes. Cashmere is a sweetie and adores her dog, G.G. They sleep together at night in the barn by our bedroom door with Cashmere all curled up with G.G.'s legs circling her. When we let G.G. sleep inside, Cashmere knocks and scrapes on the door trying to get to her dog. It sounds like Freddy Krueger out there on that metal door with her claws! She is best friends with Aspen and loves her adopted mom Guinevere. She is about to be spayed also. You can find G.G. on the dogs page.
